Nomination Criteria

Top 7 Over 70™ recognizes individuals who have embarked on a new venture or re-engaged an existing pursuit after the age of 70.

Nominees will have achieved a meaningful milestone or realized a vision that inspires Albertans of all ages and demonstrates that age is not a barrier to new passions or impact.

Excellence, creativity, innovation or collaboration — in one or more of these areas:

  1. Health, Wellness & Recreation
    Enhancing individual health, community well-being, or quality of life for others.
  2. Arts & Culture
    Creating, performing, teaching, mentoring, or promoting arts and culture.
  3. Science
    Advancing discovery, conducting research, educating others, creating new knowledge, or contributing publications.
  4. Business
    Launching a new venture or driving transformative growth or innovation within an existing business.
  5. Volunteerism & Philanthropy
    Demonstrating significant impact, dedication, innovation, or leadership through the contribution of time, talent, and/or resources.
  6. Environment
    Taking action, developing innovative solutions, or inspiring others to support environmental sustainability.
  7. Overcoming Adversity
    Confronting challenges, overcoming obstacles, or driving meaningful change in the face of adversity.
  8. Making a Difference
    Delivering an exceptional contribution to a community, organization, or broader group.

The Fifth Edition

The fifth Top 7 Over 70™ Gala took place on October 21, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Calgary.

The evening honoured eight recipients and raised more than $1 million for programming that strengthens leadership, mentorship and community connection.
