InterGen Activate: A Founder's Guide to Governance with Michael Robinson
A full room of highly engaged participants with different backgrounds, majority of whom were experienced women professionals, what a resounding success! In partnership with Board Ready Women and Axis Connects, we organized a 2-day workshop focusing on Directors' Duties and Board Effectiveness for Private Tech companies. Michael Robinson, with his extensive experience in angel investing, venture capital and other private equity boards, did an excellent job facilitating the sessions.
Targeted at founders, CFOs of scale-up companies, their investors, advisory board members, and directors, this exclusive program offered a unique opportunity to enhance governance skills through a blend of academic research and practical scenarios.
The workshop's standout feature was the interactive case studies, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios including conflicts of interest. Meanwhile, small group simulated board meetings provided hands-on governance experience, fostering negotiation, consensus-building, and decision-making skills. The high level of engagement, especially among women leaders in the industry, marked a step forward in fostering diversity and inclusion in private equity governance.
A panel including Shawn Abbott of Inovia Capital, Chad Hayden of Galatea Technologies and Melanie McClare of Gaze Consulting.
