Legacy Lessons - Brian Felesky: A Very Lucky Guy

Written by Toni Ignacio | Apr 30, 2026 5:14:20 PM

Legacy Lessons returns with Brian Felesky - a respected lawyer, business leader, and citizen, the Co- Founder and Board Chair of InterGen, and a founding member of Top 7 Over 70™.

Over the course of his career, Brian has built and advised companies, led complex transactions, served on major public boards, and played a key role in shaping commercial and charitable initiatives that have had lasting impact across Alberta and beyond. His contributions have been widely recognized, including being named a Member of the Order of Canada and receiving the Alberta Order of Excellence, among other national and community honours. Today, in his eighties, he remains deeply engaged, continuing to invest, mentor, and contribute to the ecosystem and community that he helped to build.

Through InterGen, Brian has helped to shape a model that connects experienced advisors with the next generation of entrepreneurs, facilitating thousands of mentorship relationships and supporting the growth of innovative companies. Alongside this, Top 7 Over 70™ reflects his belief that meaningful work doesn’t have an expiration date - celebrating those who continue to build, contribute, and lead later in life.

This session will take the form of an intimate fireside chat with InterGen CEO Sandi Gilbert, offering a candid and personal conversation shaped by her long-standing relationship with Brian and deep understanding of the ecosystem he helped create.

Together they will explore the lessons he’s learned, the mistakes he’s made, and the realities of building, advising and staying engaged over decades. He’ll reflect on how his perspective has evolved, what continues to matter, and why he believes that while family is the priority, work and contribution don’t stop; they simply change.

Grounded in experience and shaped by time, this discussion will offer a perspective on staying relevant, building meaningful relationships, and contributing in ways that endure.
