InterGen is pleased to announce that Cenovus has committed $230,000 in funding over three years in support of our collective mission to build economic and community resilience for Alberta's transitioning economy by supporting next generation entrepreneurs in the province. This funding is a renewal of its original commitment as a founding funder of InterGen.
With Cenovus's support, InterGen will be able to expand its offering of unique and bespoke professional development workshops for both industry experts and ventures including, but not limited to, leadership development, investor education and investor readiness for companies accessing growth capital. This investment in InterGen will also now allow for entrepreneur support services to be delivered beyond Calgary. Alberta is a highly entrepreneurial and innovative province, and leveraging the InterGen infrastructure across the province just makes plain sense. Cenovus's investment also supports the Top 7 Over 70 gala, a biennial initiative that celebrates 7 individuals that have started a prolific and new initiative after the age of 70.
As our organization continues to expand, we are actively cultivating a robust network of business leaders who can offer guidance to scaling innovation driven ventures. This can be in the form of knowledge transfer, access to capital or even a new connection that can lead to a paying customer.
By the end of 2025, InterGen expects to have a community of approximately 9,000 individuals, with 2,000 ventures and experts actively engaged on InterGen Connect - our exclusive virtual platform designed to connect IBAs with founders of scale-up companies. InterGen has a growing community of scale-ups that are focused on protecting our planet by curtailing emissions and leveraging new technology towards attainment of net-zero goals. InterGen's progress would not be possible without the support of its funders like Cenovus, who have provided support since the inception of InterGen.
